Recently, I have been receiving comments from viewers asking which book by Living Buddha Lian-Sheng they should start with, given that I have introduced so many of His books.

I first encountered Living Buddha Lian-Sheng 18 years ago, and the first book I read was Book 152, Living This Moment in Illumination, which was lent to me by a non-True Buddha School disciple.

That night, when I returned home and opened the book, I could not put it down! I read from around 11 PM to past 4 AM.

It turned out to be a prophecy.

• Prophecy Fulfilled 1: Becoming a Guiding Lamp
I have come out to propagate Dharma, and my videos have become a guiding light for many viewers. Countless clients and fans have confided that when they are feeling down or confused, they turn to my videos for warmth, strength to keep going, and clarity to resolve their troubles.

I received the lamp from my Shifu and Grandmaster and continue to pass it on through my work and videos. With a guiding light, the path ahead is illuminated, and people’s hearts will be free from fear.

• Prophecy Fulfilled 2: Advocate of Precept Against Sexual Misconduct
Living this Moment in Illumination is a book advising against sexual misconduct, after its predecessor Book 145, Living this Moment in Purity. My initial popular videos, which introduced me to audiences both local and international, were on the topic of sexual misconduct.

• Prophecy Fulfilled 3: Wenchang Luck Manifests
Grandmaster had written many books on karma and reincarnation, and these two books, Living this Moment in Purity and Living this Moment in Illumination, were written on the instructions of the Buddha of Virtuous Light, who is Lord Wenchang.

In this life, I brought a lot of wisdom in the treasure chests in my Bazi. Such Bazi would definitely be a university graduate, enjoy teaching others and learning, and place strong emphasis on education. Unfortunately, I did not bring wealth in my treasure chests into this reincarnation, so I was poor from my childhood till age 40. 🥹

Perhaps in my previous life as a nun, I focused solely on cultivating wisdom in the sutra library and had little contact with the outside world, only occasionally going to the main hall, to assist devotees with analysis of their divination lots and give Dharma teachings. Alas, I was too young and arrogant to understand the importance of giving to sentient beings.

I was simple minded and assumed that having purity and wisdom were enough. I did not expect that my life in this reincarnation would be so impoverished and lonely. I was also born into a broken family. Cultivating wisdom without accumulating blessings ultimately brought me suffering. Be wiser, my friends!

Later, within six months of taking refuge, I was given over a hundred of Grandmaster’s books. This truly is the manifestation of Wenchang luck!

Those who indulge excessively in sexual desires attract bad company and temptations. Sexual misconduct is like a poisonous snake, drawing you into fleeting desires. It erodes your wisdom, attracts deceitful friends, and leads you into a deep abyss. Not only does it harm your soul, it wrecks your health, career and finances. Like a snake, it eventually coils tighter and tighter, its venom consuming you until you are left with nothing but ruin.

Good practitioners of Buddhism are like magnets of light, surrounded by knowledgeable and virtuous friends. To awaken your inner Buddha nature, the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas arrange various conditions to guide you towards the Dharma and the right path. These connections awaken your wisdom and strengthen your practice, guiding you toward a brighter path in life and liberation from sufferings.

The over a hundred books I received, I have long read them all. Unexpectedly, that random choice of nearly twenty years ago became my crucial turning point this life, laying the foundation for my Dharma propagation.

This continues the mission I left unfinished in my previous life. It allows me to keep cultivating, build virtuous affinities, and walk the path I am meant to follow.

Now this got me curious.
1. What was the first book by Living Buddha Lian-Sheng that you read?
2. What led you to choose that book?
3. What were your thoughts after reading it?

Perhaps, this first book of yours is also a prophecy for your future.

Please share your experiences, as they can serve as valuable references for those who are about to start reading. Build good affinities, everyone! Don’t be like my past-life self, keeping to a solitary path and missing out on creating affinities, resulting in 40 years of poverty this life.
