Please Have Mercy on Me

I would like to remind everyone once again not to deposit money directly into my bank account.

I understand that you are doing this out of thankfulness. Some clients are going through particularly difficult challenges and want to express their gratitude for my guidance that helped them overcome those hurdles. Others are thankful that I extended their consultation time, listening to their years of pent-up heartache. Some are grateful because I was able to help treat a persistent illness in their child, saving them thousands in medical bills. These parents finally see their child’s small body no longer suffering under the weight of heavy medications, and can now jump around healthily. The once-tense parents now feel a great burden lifted.

Because of this, occasionally, my bank account suddenly receives a sum of money—sometimes tens, sometimes hundreds of dollars. Clients say this is an extra “angpow” to thank me.

Even when I run into fans by chance, I sometimes get handed an angpow. They say it is to thank me for my livestreams and videos, which helped them through tough times in life.

My practice is to return these funds and advise, “Take this money and use it for good deeds to dedicate to your ancestors, fetal spirits or karmic haunting spirits.”

Each year, I spend upwards of $40,000 to $50,000 on video production, all from my consultation fees. I do not seek additional income beyond that, and I have disabled ads on my videos because this work is part of my vow.

Additionally, every dollar I’ve earned since I turned 21 has been properly reported for taxes. I am cautious about even the smallest oversight—if I miss something in my account and underreport my taxes, it could be quite embarrassing if IRAS checks on me, especially since, by now, I have a certain public image. 😄

Something funny happened yesterday. A client from two years ago came back for a 2025 consultation. When transferring the fee, she added $0.01, hoping it would make it easier for me to verify the transaction. Is my accounting ability really that questionable? In reality, as long as clients include their names in the transaction note, it is not hard at all to match a payment. And yes, I will even return that extra $0.01.

I am heading to Hong Kong this week for client consultations, squeezing in some video work whenever I can, and this extra administrative task just slows down my content production. Please, have mercy on me—if this pattern continues and I end up in a higher tax bracket, who knows how many more tens of thousands I will end up paying. 😅

I know some of you, even though we have never met, light lamps, recite sutras, write mantras, or even register Dharma ceremonies with my name. Every now and then, I see my life light energy shining more brightly, and since it’s not from any particular good deed or practice of my own, it must be the Buddhist light and blessings you all send from afar. I feel it all, and my heart is moved. I sometimes don’t feel I deserve these. Walking this path of Dharma and Chinese Metaphysics propagation can be rough, and with your light of blessings, the path I walk is not as dark.

Every comment, like, share, and view is already the greatest gift you can give me. The online world is vast, and the fact that we’ve connected and stayed together shows we share a deep karmic bond. I cherish it. And if you can continue to cultivate faithfully and break free from the cycles of samsara, then our encounter in this life will have truly come full circle.
