From time to time, I get asked by some viewers: Master, where are you from?
I am a Singaporean, born and raised here in Singapore.
My family has been rooted in Singapore for three generations.
I grew up in Bukit Merah View and have never studied or lived abroad. I can speak Chinese, English, and Cantonese. I can write in traditional Chinese because this is the prerequisite for learning Chinese anthroponymy.
No, I have no plans to immigrate. In this lifetime, I want to repay my country’s kindness and always be a Singaporean, staying in this sunny island where trees outnumber people, no matter what.
Speaking good Chinese does not mean I am not a Singaporean. After all, Singapore is a place where hidden talents thrive. 😁
Once, I was told by a Buddhist friend that my Chinese is clear and my voice pleasant, without a heavy accent, making it easy to understand my words.
At that time, I laughed and replied: That is just perfect for me to serve sentient beings.
My clear Chinese accent was not something I practiced deliberately; it is a mark from my past life. This mark remains for me to complete the unfinished tasks from my previous life and to fulfill my vows in this life.
Life inevitably has its storms, and when the road ahead is difficult, my voice is here to hold you strong, accompanying you through your Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter.
In my 400 videos, my voice evolves with the karmic circumstances. I emulate the thousand-fold manifestations of Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, sometimes using my voice like a lion’s roar, ROAR! ROAR! ROAR!
Awakening you from your continuous bad karma creation, making you stop at the brink of a precipice. Sometimes, my voice transforms into the gentle breeze and rain, swish, swish, swish! Softly soothing the waves in your heart; drip, drip, drop! Nourishing your soul like sweet dew.
I will cultivate diligently so that my voice can transform into billion lights of Prajna wisdom, illuminating the path ahead of you and guiding you to the shore of enlightenment and liberation!
